Newsletter Week ending 23rd December 2016

23 Dec 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we draw to the end of our Autumn Term, I would like to say  thank you, on behalf of the whole school staff team for all your support this term.  We wish you all a joyful and peaceful Christmas with your wonderful children. Thank you all for the many Christmas gifts and cards we have received.

Thank you to the Staff Team

I would  like to say a huge thank you to the staff team of St Cuthbert Mayne who have worked with passion, enthusiasm and  dedication this term. I’m sure you join me in wishing them a well earned Happy Christmas holiday.

This week

Well done to all the children who performed or auditioned for the St CM has talent Christmas show 2016.  The standard was very high and the competition very tough. Well done to Molly, Alexandra, Cloe, Iris, Leyla and Arthur who were our winners. Thank you to Miss Board for co-ordinating and organising this event. Our shared Christmas party lunch was also a huge success. Thank you to Mrs Bacon and Year 6 for ensuring that there was a seat for all the children in the school hall and thank you to parents for your generous donations of food. Yesterday we celebrated our Advent Mass, thank you to those parents who were able to join us and to Fr. David for leading us in this. It was a beautiful celebration.

Farewells

Sadly we have to say goodbye to Mr Burton who has done a fantastic job as Year 3 teacher this term.  Goodbye also to Mrs Newman who has also done a fantastic job as  Year 5 teacher alongside Mr Bloomfield.  Thank you to both of them for all that they have contributed.

We also bid farewell to Mrs Smith as she begins her retirement. Some of you may even remember her from your own school days at St Cuthbert Mayne! We  thank her for all that she has contributed to the school in the last 22 years. She will be greatly missed and we hope that she stays in touch.

This term we also say good bye to Rupert, Matilda, Minnie, Benedict and Will. We wish them every success in their new schools.

We look forward to seeing the children again on Wednesday January 4th 2017 by 8.50am.

Happy Christmas from all of us  at St Cuthbert Mayne!
