Our focus this term is for the children to show ambition and try their best in all they do, this week I have continued to see some excellent examples of this. Thank you to our violinists Daniel, Martha and Rafa for your violin recital. We look forward to hearing more from you as you continue to develop your talents. I have seen some excellent gymnastics in Reception and Year 6 using the equipment in the hall. Well done to Lottie for her excellent star jump. I was really impressed by the choice of vocabulary being used in Years 1 and 5 as the children continue to develop their story writing. Children are also being taught to collaborate with their peers as a way of developing their own and others work. Again I have seen excellent examples of this in Year 6 as they evaluated and improved each others writing.

We are delighted that we have been able to go live with our new website this week. It has taken many hours of hard work by many people to design the website and its content. I’m sure that you will agree that it’s been worth the wait! You should now be able to access it more efficiently through mobile devices. Once again a huge thank you to Mrs Morrison for her dedication to this project and also to all the pupils, staff parents and governors who have contributed. If you have not had a chance to use the website yet then please take a look. We have already received a lot of positive feedback and one parent has even commented how excited her child will be by the opportunity to learn to speak different languages by using the translate button.

Once again our art will be on public display. Before Christmas, Year 6 were busy exploring the work of William Morris as part of their Victorian topic. For the month of February, some of their wallpaper prints, influenced by his creations, will be on display in Cranleigh Art Centre. Their designs will be found to the left of the opening to the gallery, opposite the coffee bar. We know the children would love you to visit their exhibition and to celebrate their work!
