Year 3 and Year 4 visit Wintershall.
Last Friday, Year 3 and Year 4 visited Wintershall to walk The Stations of the Cross. The children were split into four groups, which comprised children from Year 3 and Year 4.
Each of the Stations is represented by a unique piece of artwork made from various materials, including bronze, timber, steel and marble. As the children followed the route, they explored the story and the piece of art with their leader. At many of the Stations, they collected an item to remind them of the events of Jesus’ death.
The children were also lucky enough to have two actors from Wintershall bring some of the story to life for them. After lunch, the children took part in workshops where they spent a reflective time in the chapel, made decorative crosses, learnt about life in the Roman army and experienced and thought about the Last Supper.
