Year 3 Prayer and Liturgy.

This week, Year 3 gave a Prayer and Liturgy presentation to the school about St George, who is their class saint.

As part of their presentation, they acted out the story of Perseus and Andromeda on which the traditional story of St George is thought to be based. Perseus stood up against a monster to protect a princess just like St George. Each of them was a brave soldier, who was not afraid to do the right thing.

The class explained how St George, who was a Roman soldier, was sentenced to death for refusing to give up his faith. They asked the school to be ready to be soldiers, so that they can stand up and speak out confidently when they see people doing the wrong thing.

They also explained that the name ‘George’ means farmer and they asked the school to be farmers. They told them to be ready to plant a seed, which will encourage more people to know about God’s love.
