Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had some great sporting results this week! On Tuesday netballers and footballers from Year 5 played against Wonersh and Shamley Green. We had success in both matches – netball 13-5 and football final score of 7-3! Ms. Robson said that it was such a pleasure to take Year 5 -they showed great sportsmanship and represented the school well – particularly with their good manners to thank the teachers from Wonersh and Shamley Green who had organised the matches. Then on Wednesday Year 4 played a netball match against Tillingbourne with a final score of 19-2!

On Monday, Mr Ellson’s Choir will be sharing a Lenten Reflection in the Church at 3.45pm. Do come along if you can.
Thank you to everyone who organised and supported the Year 6 Easter cake raffle. This raised an amazing £242 that will go towards the cost of the Year 6 Leavers’ books. The winners were Year 2!

We are looking forward to the KS2 film night tonight after the success of the KS1 event last week. Do join in and support all of the Easter excitement next week. See details below.
Thank you to those of you who are following the school on Instagram. Do follow us if you use this social media platform!

Collective Worship

One of the children in Year 2 impressively identified the Gospel from this image in Collective Worship on Monday! In the parable in this week’s Gospel, the gardener is like God, giving the fig tree another chance to grow and bear fruit by tending to it and nourishing it. How can we allow God to help us to grow and bear fruit?
Online Safety
Bluesky is a microblogging social media platform that gained popularity after separating from Twitter in 2021. Since accounts must be public, this opens the door to potential trolling, cyberbullying and the spread of misinformation.
This guide offers parents and educators advice and guidance on the tools available to keep children safe while using the popular social media platform Bluesky.
Report Remove

Report Remove is an online tool run by NSPCC Childline and the Internet Watch Foundation for young people in the UK under the age of 18. Its sole purpose is for young people to report explicit images of themselves online and to have these removed.
New data from the IWF shows that in 2024 the Report Remove service saw a usage increase of 44% over 2023 with 1,142 reports submitted by young people.
It is incredibly sad that a service such as this has to be available, but there can be many reasons why there may be indecent images of children and young people online, including blackmail/extortion, images created by others (e.g. using artificial intelligence) and more.

Further information about the Report Remove tool can be found HERE.

Volunteers

We would love to have some parents/grandparents help with reading in school. To volunteer, you will need to be committed to coming into school regularly, undertake a DBS and safeguarding training. Please contact the office if you can offer support with this.
Parking

Points to remember please:
I know that a parent talked to the PCSO about having a walking bus. If anyone would like to volunteer to organise that - please get in contact with Mrs O’Donovan via the School Office. She would love to hear from you!
